Chapter 2: Step Mom?

Geet was in her angry mode when she felt a tap on her shoulders. She turned around to see who it was. A girl dressed in a simple blue salwar suit was standing looking at her. She put her hand forward confidently.

Riddhima: Hi...I am Riddhima...

Geet: Hi I am geet and this is khushi..

Khushi: Hi..

Riddhima: Woh umm..priniciple sir told me that you are coming so he said to show you around...but I thought you were coming tomorrow?

Khushi: Yes, we were coming tomorrow, but we wanted to surprise him.

Riddhima: Oh I see...

Geet: But how did you know it was us?

Riddhima: You are the only 2 new people here...everyone knows you!

Khushi: Wow...we didn't know that we are that popular.

Riddhima laughed at their joke. They happily chatted amongst them selves.

Here the gang is fuming.

Arman: Why did basket have to come in between?

Dia: Haan...she spoiled the whole plan...

Pari: Haan yaar..dekho na..kitna attitude dikha rahe hain...Popular? My foot...

Arman: Ohh ho ladies...tum log chinta kyun karti ho? Main hoon na...! We will definietly get them back but for now just enjoy the show.

Arnav & Maan just stayed quiet...They were actually intrigued at these 2 girls. They seemed different, very different.

Riddhima: So how was the  journey?

Geet: Ohh hoo..don't ask..hum log airport pe the and you know everyone has to go through security check...well yeh madam ne business suit pehna tha aur haath main ek laptop aur dusre haath main Financial times ka newspaper...When she walked through the security check the guards smiled at her and said "Good afternoon Ma'am  have a pleasant journey!" but I thought that was easy. I was dressed in casual jeans and a top, they stop me. They look through my hand-bag and make me remove my shoes, socks and watch, and coat...and she is standing in one corner and smirking at me.

Khushi: What else would I have done?...you looked so funny...aur iske facial expressions dekhne layak the...she looked like she wanted to murder me...aur you know jab yeh gussa hoti hain na...toh shammat aa jati hain!

Geet: Aur nahi toh kya? They were such fools. 

Riddhima: Oh god...so journey was good then?

Geet: Yeah, it was rocking and tiring.

Riddhima: You know both of you are looking very different. I mean both of you are from but you have dressed in a very traditional way.

Geet was about to answer but got interupted when a girl who was dressed in a track suit with a short crop to came over and came and stayed next to Riddhima.

CJ: Heyy yaar...

Riddhima: Hey...how are you?

CJ: Just bunked Shukla's class, how do you think I am?

Then she turns around and looks at the two new comers.

CJ: Hey I am CJ...and you?

Geet: I am geet...

Khushi: I am Khushi...nice to meet you!

CJ: Don't be formal with me yaar...we are all cool here right? I mean both of you know Riddhima, then I am kind of a package deal!

Riddhima: Right!!!

CJ: So both new na starting from tomorrow?

Geet: Yep...Any tips?

CJ: Yah..bas pricipal se thoda dhoor rehna...

Geet: Kyun?

CJ: Arre..yaar woh taklu bahot hi sadhu aur akdu...hain, always saying no short skirt allowed...blah blah blah...bheja fry karta rehta hain...

Riddhima and Khushi's eyes flew open at the abuse that was baing hurled at the Principal.

Riddhima: No she's kidding...he is really nice!

CJ: Tum tho principal sir ki chamchi ho na...toh obviously tum yehi kahogi...

Riddhima: CJ...(she glares at her to stop talking while Khushi was praying to Devi Maiyya)

Riddhima was still tell telling CJ to stop but she wasn't listening to her at all.

Geet's eyes were wild like fire, she was going to erupt on CJ but then she saw something which instantly diverted her mind. She stared in shock. Khushi and Riddhima followed her gaze to see where she was looking. It was the Prinicipal.

The prinicipal had just come out of his office as usual. It had been a good day. Nothing unusual, everything was perfect, he came out of his thoughts when he bumped into Miss. Briganza. Mr. Handa saved Miss Briganza from falling, by grabbing onto her waist. She gasped in total filmy style, and both of them were standing in a typical Shahrukh Khan-Kajol Pose. That is when Geet saw them. Her mouth opened in shock. Miss Briganza and Mr Handa started to walk in that direction of the canteen, without realizing those glary eyes.

Miss Briganza: Ohhhooo Mr.Handa...what were you doing?

Mr. Handa: Noth..nothing Miss Briganza (he then stared at her legs as she was wearing a mini skirt) Miss Briganza there are no short skirts allowed.

Miss Briganza: Offfooo...Mr. Handa...short skirts main problem kya hain?

Mr. Handa: Koi...problemmm nahii haiinnn...

Miss Briganza: Good...see you later Mr. Handa (she said seductively and then turned around and walked back to class)

Mr. Handa was in awe seeing her facial expressions. He stared at her for some time and then turned around to meet the glares of his daughter, who had her arms folded and was tapping her foot impatiently.

Mr Handa: Geet..Khushi...tum log yaha? What a surprise? (he took them in a hug)

Geet: Hi Papa...(CJ nearly had a heart attack, her mouth fell down and she looked at Riddhima which had a I-told-you-so expression! The gang stood up in shock, after hearing her words and looked at her)

EVERYONE including the gang except riddhima & Khushi: PAPA?

Everyone turned around to look at the gang who just turned around  and started talking to one another, trying to pretend that they weren't looking at them...

Arman: You said that they are sisters?

Pari: Apparently they are cousin sisters...

Dia: oh no...and that is princi's daughter...

Maan: So what? She is not the president...

Arnav: yea right...now i know why she was talking to you like that...and why she wasn't scared of you...

Maan: What you really think she makes a difference to me?

Arnav: Yeah...have you seen your face...you have been staring at her for the past half-an hour...and she is giving you so much attitude...she is probably the first girl..that Maan Singh  Khurana's charm hasn't worked on...

Maan: Oh really..then what about Khushi haan? The ASR that all the girls die for one look is staring at a girl...

Arnav: I am not staring...

Maan: Really?

Arnav: Yes...fine we'll do a deal? You think that Geet will fall in your charms right? Fine then karke dikhao...

Maan: A challenge...and If I win that...what will I get?

Arnav:  Umm...anything you ask for!

Maan: You sure?

Arnav: I'm ASR...I don't break promises...

Arman: Whooohaooo...hold on Maan...you will actually do this?

Maam: Yep...I am ready! Bring it on!

Arnav: It's a bet then...

Mr Handa: Hi beta...

Khushi: Hi uncle...!

Mr Handa: hello my sweet dear! So tum log batao...how was your journey?

Geet: It was good...but pehle yeh bataiye ki what was that? Who was that?

Mr Handa: What her...she was your future..

Geet: (she gasped and interupted him) FUTURE WHAT?

Mr Handa: Pyscology teacher...

Mr Handa: Kyun tumne kya socha tha?

Geet: Step-mom (not realising that she said that aloud)

ALL: WHAT?

Geet: haha...joking..

Mr Handa: Well girls...meet khushi and geet my 2 daughters who just came from london, they will be spending their last years with us in our college! Like a student...so Riddhima and CJ look after them...(then he noticed the gang sitting in the cafe) Tum log bhi yaha aaoo...let me introduce you to some people...

Arman, Maan, Arnav, Pari, Dia & Romeo came unwillingly.

Mr Handa: Right...this is Maan...the basketball team captain...we have never lost a game because of him...

Geet: That's probably because all the rest are really bad...(geet said in a low voice...but maan heard her)

Maan: Sorry did you say something?

Geet: Umm...nope nothing...

Mr Handa: Aur this is Arnav...the most intelligent in your batch...100% in every paper...

Khushi: yeh...right...the teachers are probably really bad at marking...

Arnav: What the?

Khushi: Nope nothing...

Mr Handa: Aur this Arman...the college's biggest flirt...

Arman: Woh toh main hoon..

Riddhima: Woh toh shakal se dikta hain...(Khushi heard her and muffled a chuckle, whilst Arman glared at her)

Mr handa introduced everyone to them.

Mr Handa: So you guys have fun..make friends and you can start tomorrow!

Saying that Mr Handa left, Dia, Pari & Romeo followed as they didn't want to be around Hoshiyarpur sisters. Soon as Mr handa left, Khushi turned to Geet and shouted...

Khushi: Step-Mom? Seriously...how can you say that?

Geet: Arre...main gusse main thi...and you know main gusse main kuch bhi keh dethi hun...

Khushi: Haan...well tumhe global cooling ki zaroorat hain...

Geet: I know...aur yaha gharmi kitni hain...

CJ: Hold on...you are princi's daughter?

Geet: Yea...

CJ: and you are from london? Actually both of you are from london?

Geet & Khushi: Yea..

CJ: So what are you dresses up like this? I mean in Salwar suits...and all...and you speak fluent hindi

Khushi: CJ...i know what you are thinking? We are modern in our thinking but our views are still traditional...and plus people should wear what they want to wear...not what society tells them to wear...

Riddhima: Absolutely correct...

Arman: Absolutely wrong...have you seen bipasha in Race...she looked so dam hot...

Khushi: Well you should watch Main Hoon Na...Sushmita Sen was looking so gorgeous in a saree...

They carried on Arguing until Arnav had enough.

Arnav: SHUT THE HELL UP

Everyone grew silent where as Maan was just smirking at his best friend...

Maan: So tum log aise hi ho bachpan se...full on radio peice?

Geet: haan kyun...

Arnav: Nahi we just wanted to know...we will bring ear plugs from tomorrow...

Khushi: Hawww...what are you trying to say that we talk a lot?

Arman: Correct...!

Riddhima: Tum usse kyun bol rahe ho..mujhe bolo na...!

Arman: Kyun basket?

Khushi & Geet: BASKET?

Arman: thats my nick-name for her...

Geet and Khushi raised their eye-brows in question, while smirking at the two of them.
